Notice for persons appearing as parties in court cases

Public notice under Art. 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), data not obtained from the data subject.

Version 1.0 · Effective date: 10 September 2026

What this page is for

If your name appears in a court case published on the official portal of the Romanian courts (portal.just.ro), it may also appear on StatusDosar.ro, which mirrors that public information. This page explains, calmly and clearly, where the data comes from, why we process it, how long we keep it and what rights you have: including the right to object and to request anonymisation on our pages.

1. Who is the data controller

NOIDEEA S.R.L.

CUI: RO48069626

Trade Register: J40/8019/2023

Address: Calea Vitan 242, Corp C2 Parter Birou 17, Sector 3, București, postal code 031296

Data Protection Officer (DPO): https://www.statusdosar.ro/contact/dpo

Supervisory authority: National Authority for the Supervision of Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro.

2. Where the data comes from

The case data displayed on this platform (case number, court, parties and their procedural role, hearing dates, published solutions) is not collected from you. It comes exclusively from a public official source: the courts' portal portal.just.ro, operated by the Ministry of Justice, where Romanian courts publish this information by operation of law (the public nature of court proceedings). StatusDosar.ro mirrors that public information in an aggregated, easier-to-follow form and does not enrich it with data from private sources.

3. Why we process this data (purpose and legal basis)

The purpose is legal monitoring and judicial transparency: the platform lets its users follow the progress of court cases (their own cases or cases of legitimate interest) and gives the public aggregated access to information already published by the courts.

Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (the public interest in the transparency of justice and the operator's interest in providing a monitoring service over data already made public by the State). We do not make automated decisions about the parties, we do not build risk scores and we do not profile natural persons.

4. Why we did not inform you individually: Art. 14(5)(b) GDPR

GDPR normally requires a controller to inform each person whose data it obtained from another source (Art. 14). The same article provides an exception where individual information proves impossible or would involve a disproportionate effort: Art. 14(5)(b) GDPR, which we expressly invoke: the court data mirrored by the platform concerns millions of distinct persons, the public source does not contain any contact details for them, and identifying and contacting each person individually is not feasible at this scale.

In such cases, the law requires the controller to take appropriate measures to protect the data subject's rights, including making the information publicly available. This page is exactly that compensatory measure: it is permanently public, linked from our Privacy Policy, and describes the source of the data, the purpose of processing, the retention period and the rights you can exercise at any time (section 7 below).

5. How long we keep the data

Court case data is kept for at most 10 years from the date of the last change recorded on the courts' portal (portal.just.ro); upon reaching this term, the data is anonymised. Anonymisations granted upon request (section 7) are applied earlier and are maintained; they are not overwritten by later synchronisations with the portal.

6. Data relating to criminal cases (Art. 10 GDPR) and special-category data (Art. 9 GDPR)

Public court files may concern criminal proceedings (Art. 10 GDPR) or may reveal special-category data (Art. 9 GDPR, for example cases concerning minors and family matters, health, medical confinement, adoption, guardianship and curatorship, medical malpractice). On these categories the treatment is the following:

  • The names of natural persons are not displayed. They are replaced. The rule applies to every reader, visitor, account holder or paying subscriber, and whether or not the reader is a party to that case. The names of legal entities and public institutions remain displayed.
  • Anonymisation on request is distinct from the automatic non-display described above: it applies to our own records and is maintained across subsequent synchronisations with the portal. The data published by the courts remains at the source; for it, competence rests with the court handling the case. See section 7.

We take the data as the courts publish it, without interpretation, without consolidating criminal histories and without scoring.

7. Your rights

  • Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): you can object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Anonymisation / removal from our pages: upon request via the form at https://www.statusdosar.ro/contact/dpo, we anonymise your name in the case pages displayed by the platform; the anonymisation is persistent (it survives re-synchronisation with the portal). Note: we cannot modify the data at the source, for the official portal, contact the court handling the case.
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): if the data displayed is inaccurate, you can ask us to re-verify it against the portal; where the source has corrected it, we mirror the correction.
  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR): you can ask what data about you the platform displays.
  • Complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): you can lodge a complaint with ANSPDCP at any time: www.dataprotection.ro.

Requests are free of charge and are answered within one month, a deadline that may be extended by two further months for complex requests, with notice in the first month (Art. 12(3) GDPR).

8. How to contact us
