Romanian small claims
Articles 1.026-1.033 of the Romanian Code of Civil Procedure provide an alternative, expedited procedure for civil claims up to 10,000 RON. The procedure is initiated using a standard form, with reduced court fees: 50 RON for claims under 2,000 RON and 200 RON for claims up to 10,000 RON. The procedure is in principle written: the defendant has 30 days to respond on a standard form, and the court rules within 30 days of receiving the response. Total duration is typically 60-90 days. Excluded are tax, customs, employment, insolvency, social insurance, family and inheritance matters. The judgment is enforceable by law and can be appealed within 30 days, but the appeal does not suspend enforcement.
