How do I find out if I have a criminal case?
Clear steps to check if there are criminal cases in your name — through the official court portal and criminal record.
Two types of criminal case checks
There is an important distinction: criminal cases at court (trial phase) and cases at the prosecutor's office (investigation phase). These are checked differently.
1. Criminal case at court (trial)
If the case has already reached tribunal or district court, it appears on portal.just.ro.
2. Case at prosecutor's office (investigation)
Cases under criminal investigation at the prosecutor's office do NOT appear on portal.just.ro. They are confidential during investigation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not automatically. The criminal record only contains final convictions. An ongoing criminal case does not appear in the record.
