Court costs in Romania
Under art. 451-455 NCPC, the losing party pays the winner's court costs if claimed and proven: they are not awarded automatically. Costs include: court fees, lawyer's fees, expert fees, witness travel. For partial success, costs are proportionally offset (art. 453 para. 2 NCPC). The court may reduce disproportionate lawyer fees (art. 451 para. 2 NCPC). Costs must be claimed at the final hearing and evidenced by receipts/invoices. Unsupported costs are not awarded.
