What does "partially granted" mean in Romanian courts

"Partially granted" means the court ruled in the claimant's favour, but not for everything requested — either the amount is lower or some claims were rejected.

Definiţie

What does this ruling mean?

"Partially granted" means the judge finds the claimant partially right. The court awards some of the requested relief but rejects or reduces the rest.

Common examples: claimant requests 50,000 RON, court awards 20,000 RON; or 3 claims filed, 2 admitted and 1 rejected.

Who wins?

Neither party wins outright. Court costs are typically split proportionally (art. 453 para. 2 NCPC). Both parties may appeal the unfavourable portion within 30 days from communication.
